How to rent a sailboat with us
First of all, choose a sailboat that meets your needs and is available during the required period. In the description details of every sailboat you will find the rental costs and the additional services.
The outline of every sailboat contains the technical description and a list of extras. The boats are equipped with plotter, Bimini top and canopy, CD player, fridge, dishes, dinghy, navigation maps for the Aeolian islands, blankets (upon request) and cushions. All these items are included in the rental cost, as well as the mooring in the departure port for the first and last night of rental. All prices are VAT included.

Option
For 3 days you have the possibility of optioning the sailboat without any obligation. If you are interested in renting a sailboat, but you need time to decide, you can ask to prolong zour option of the boat. This booking is not binding, and it is free of charge. If you do not confirm the booking within 3 days, it will be automatically cancelled.
The booking becomes binding after receipt of 50% of the rental fee. The additional services can be paid also upon booking of the boat.
Delivery (check in)
The delivery of the boat will take place at the Marina di Portorosa from 2:00 to 6:00 PM, unless otherwise mutually agreed. In the presence of your skipper or another person you appoint, all functional tests of the boat will be performed, and the inventory board protocol will be issued. The working hours of the base are 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
You will be invited to pay for the final cleaning and the other services you requested which are not included in the rental cost, and to pay the security deposit that will be refunded after the final check of the boat before disembarkation.
For organizational and safety reasons it is not possible to drop off the luggage on board before the completion of all technical and contractual operations.
Return (check out)
The boat shall be returned at the departure Marina on the evening before the last rental day, within and not later than 6:00 PM (unless otherwise mutually agreed). After the last night on the boat, within 9:00 AM, it is necessary to disembark for the checks to be performed.
Insurance included in the rental fee
Our sailboats are insured for potential damage or destruction (comprehensive insurance). They also hold liability insurance. Moreover, GAIS s.r.o. is insured against bankruptcy.
The skipper
For you to enjoy your holiday, the sailboat must be steered by an authorized skipper. If you or any of the members of the crew do not hold a boat license, we can recommend an expert skipper and give you his/her contact details. Do not hesitate to contact us, preferably during the booking process.
The skipper has several tasks. The skipper is responsible for your safety and the safety of the boat during sailing. The lessor and the skipper are responsible for all items on the sailboat you choose.
The skipper service will be included in the contract, but his/her remuneration is not included in the rental fee, and the skipper is entitled to a place and meals on board.
The rental fee does not include
- Compulsory security deposit
- Mandatory final cleaning
- Sheets and towels
- Pantry
- Fuel – the boat is delivered and shall be returned with a full tank of fuel
- Outboard motor for the tender
- Moorings (except for the first and last night at the departure marina)
- Skipper services
Waste management
Separate collection is required in Marina di Portorosa and aboard the sailboats. Failure to comply with this regulation may result in a 100 EUR fine.
Additional services to book
Upon booking of the sailboat, you can request the following services:
- Transfer from/to the airport
- Pantry (basic shopping) – minimum price 50 € + 15% charge for the service
- Outboard motor for the tender
- Sheets and towels
- Welcome drink for the crew
- Refreshments or pizza aboard
- Moorings on the islands and in the ports of the Sicilian coast
- Skipper service
- Accommodation on the islands or in other destinations
- Restaurants in the ports or on the islands
